I did something a little different for these two: I asked Cheyenne & Bri to write captions for my Instagram posts of this series. This is something I’ll 100% be doing more often from now on. Get ready to tear up. Here are two little snippets of Cheyenne & Bri’s story, told by them.✨⠀

“I think most people have a lot to say about their first love. I think they’re supposed to teach you about relationships and maturity, and they help you figure out what’s important to you. My first love helped me discover a huge part of my identity and was a pivotal part in my coming out story. Lucky for me, she’s both my first and last love. ⠀
It’s hard to say whether I believe in destiny, or fate, or whatever. But how lucky I was to meet on the love of my life on Twitter at 13. Our story has a lot of luck involved, I think. Luck accompanied by a lot of loneliness and sadness and joy. ⠀
We met. We were best friends. We discovered who we were together. We fell in love. We managed a long distance (2,031 miles) relationship for more than three years. We CONQUERED a long distance relationship. I asked her to marry me. She said yes. Eight years, births, deaths, middle school, high school, and college graduations, and proposal later (with so much luck and pain and love in between) and I just can’t wait to see what’s next.”⠀

“Cheyenne. My person. My first love. My soulmate.
It’s crazy to think that I am going to marry the person I fell in love with when I was in middle school. I made a lifelong commitment to the girl that has held my hand while we walked through the last eight years of milestones together. She is the person in this world that brings my soul peace. The person that consistently makes life hardships a little less scary. The person that believes in me and our future together.
If I could talk to my thirteen year old self, I would tell myself not to worry. I DO get that girl. I move in with her, adopt two sweet cats with her, and start planning a wedding with her. I finally got my dream. I can’t wait to keep making memories together. ❤️”
